Job Description

Keen Medical Group is seeking a Full Time/Part Time licensed Family Practice Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with Pediatric and/or Urgent Care experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family practice, pediatric care, and urgent care. Responsibilities include recording patients' medical histories, performing physical exams, administering diagnostic tests, treating common episodic and chronic conditions, and creating patient care plans. The successful candidate will be empathic, resolute in their decision-making, and attentive to detail. They will also be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical examinations and treat urgent, common episodic, and chronic conditions.
  • Obtain comprehensive histories and physicals, assess and evaluate new and established patients' conditions, signs, and symptoms for care and treatment for chronic and acute illnesses.
  • Perform annual physicals of adults and minors as required.
  • Coordinate patient treatment plans using evidenced-based clinical decision-making.
  • Document patients' conditions, symptoms, and complaints using the practice's EMR software.
  • Order and review lab and diagnostic tests and discuss results with patients in coordination with the supervising physician.
  • Implement care and medication plans along with expected outcomes for patients in coordination with the supervising physician.
  • Provide medical management, patient training, and education on disease control, preventive care, weight management, etc.
  • Screen patients for determination of severity of illness and/or diagnostics tests and other procedures.
  • Refer patients requiring mental health services to mental health providers and facilities.
  • Ensure confidentiality of minor's health issues and all other patients in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Current, valid license as a Family Nurse Practitioner with no license restrictions.
  • Certified and licensed in the state with no license restrictions.
  • Two years clinical experience in a family practice, general practice, urgent care, internal medicine, or equivalent experience.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Master's Degree (MSN) required.
  • Current CA state license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Certification as an Ambulatory Care Nurse Practitioner preferred.
  • Current DEA License.
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • AANP or ANCC Certification preferred but not required.
