Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Nurse practitioners (NPs) at Kaiser Permanente provide high-quality patient care services, including health evaluations, preventive care, and education. They work in primary care or specialty departments, consistent with their educational preparation, and follow established procedures and protocols. NPs perform comprehensive physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and establish health care plans. They also maintain accurate records and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in their interactions with patients, colleagues, and customers.
Essential Responsibilities- Collect subjective data through patient history and interviews.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations to collect objective data.
- Develop accurate diagnoses based on collected data.
- Implement effective management plans, including pharmacologic interventions and educational strategies.
- Facilitate referrals to community resources and health facilities as needed.
- Plan for follow-up care and ensure continuity of patient services.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Kaiser Permanente's Principles of Responsibility.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- At least one year of experience as an NP or PA, unless specified by the department.
- A graduate degree from an accredited RN and NP program or PA program.
- A valid Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number, National Certificate, and Registered Nurse License in California, or a Physician Assistant License and National Certificate in California.
- A National Provider Identifier and Basic Life Support certification.
Candidates must be willing to consider a Physician Assistant job code and obtain a California Furnishing Number and DEA Registration Number within 12 months of hire, if required by the department.
