Job Title: Therapeutic Riding Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Riding Instructor to join our team at the Franklin County 4-H Therapeutic Riding Center. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities through the power of horseback riding.

Job Summary:

The Therapeutic Riding Instructor will be responsible for teaching horseback riding lessons to students in our therapeutic riding center. This includes developing and implementing lesson plans, maintaining an active group of students, and working with our Volunteer Coordinator to teach volunteers horsemanship skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach horseback riding lessons to students in our therapeutic riding center
  • Develop and implement lesson plans for each student
  • Maintain an active group of students
  • Work with our Volunteer Coordinator to teach volunteers horsemanship skills
  • Assist in planning and orchestration of center horse shows
  • Assist in procuring program horses, training, and assessing horses for use in lessons
  • Attend required staff meetings and trainings
Requirements:
  • PATH or PACTH Registered certification is strongly preferred
  • Progress in a recognized program leading to such certification is acceptable
  • Previous experience teaching horseback riding and/or driving lessons is preferred
  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities is preferred
Clearances:
  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
  • FBI Criminal Background Check
Other Requirements:

This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
