Director of Institute for Integrative Precision Agriculture

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the Institute for Integrative Precision Agriculture at the University of Georgia. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in advancing our research and education initiatives in precision agriculture, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and driving innovation in this critical field.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and management of the Institute, representing it with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for the Institute, aligning with the university's mission and goals.
- Engage and motivate the Institute's membership, fostering a cohesive team working towards a shared strategic vision.
- Support the scholarly activities of Institute member faculty, bringing together interdisciplinary teams and securing funding opportunities to advance Institute initiatives.
- Advance both foundational and applied research in precision agriculture, enhancing the Institute's overall impact.
- Cultivate relationships with state constituencies, industry stakeholders, and agribusiness partners to promote collaboration and drive research initiatives.
- Develop and manage the Institute's budget, focusing on maximizing the impact of investments and securing funding opportunities.
- Ph.D. in agricultural sciences, engineering, computer science, or related disciplines.
- Track record of research and scholarship in precision agriculture, with a strong focus on technology, data analytics, or models.
- Experience in leading large teams or groups, with a proven ability to secure external funding.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the Institute with internal and external stakeholders.
