Parks Maintenance Worker Job Description

Kenosha County is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Parks Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Parks Division, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of our parks and recreational facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain turf and athletic fields in parks
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on small and midsize equipment
  • Operate vehicles and equipment as assigned
  • Perform general maintenance of buildings, park grounds, flower beds, athletic fields, parkways, playgrounds, and dog parks
  • Assist in forestry operations, including tree removal and pruning
  • Haul and transport equipment
  • Apply herbicides and pesticides
  • Remove snow - plow and shovel
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of work experience in maintenance of parks, facilities, roadways, construction, or golf course
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B (no air brake restriction)
  • Current Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide Applicator: Turf and Landscape certification
Work Environment:

The Parks Maintenance Worker will work outdoors in various weather conditions, including temperature extremes. The position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
