Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Systems Designer to join our team at Ignis Global Recruitment in Ohio.

About the Role

This is a full-time, in-office position where you will design, develop, and oversee the installation of fire suppression systems to ensure the safety and protection of life and property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Development: Design life safety and asset protection systems using AutoCAD and proprietary software, ensuring compliance with local, national, and manufacturer standards.
  • Project Management: Direct contractors during system installation and ensure proper operation according to design specifications.
  • Site Surveys: Conduct on-site surveys to ensure accurate system design and successful installation.
  • Customer Specifications: Review and interpret project specifications provided by customers to implement them effectively.
  • Industry Standards: Attend manufacturer training sessions and other professional development opportunities to stay current with industry standards.
  • Documentation: Create project-specific operation and maintenance manuals to support system functionality.
  • Drawing Updates: Update and maintain existing drawings for system improvements or modifications.
  • Safety Policies: Adhere to company and customer safety policies throughout the design and installation process.
  • Office Support: Assist office staff with engineering-related tasks, including process improvements and system documentation.
  • System Inspections: Provide support in system inspections, maintenance, startups, and commissioning when necessary.

Requirements

  • Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting and familiarity with 3D design software.
  • MS Office: Solid understanding of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Certification: Eagerness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations, including NICET certification.
  • Motivation: Self-motivated with a desire for continuous improvement in processes and design methods.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
