R&D Technician IV Job Description

Job Summary:

Advantage Technical is seeking a highly skilled R&D Technician IV to join our team. As an R&D Technician IV, you will assist our client Neuromodulation R&D Systems Engineers and teams in the development, testing, and analysis of neuromodulation products, processes, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute assigned tasks for project deliverables, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Develop innovative solutions and contribute to initial design, testing, and process concepts, leveraging your extensive knowledge base and technical expertise.
  • Construct prototype products and/or detailed test methods from concepts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
  • Organize, coordinate, and execute testing of prototypes/materials with minimal engineering guidance, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop new test methods and/or make revisions to existing test methods, applying your analytical skills and technical knowledge.
  • Coordinate procuring and qualification of new or modified test equipment, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Prepare reports/documentation to communicate results to the technical community, effectively conveying complex technical information.
  • Use developed networks in assisting engineering teams in obtaining necessary materials, services, and test data, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Work with internal resources and external vendors to identify and obtain supplies and services, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Train/Coach peers on the technical aspects of their job, including interpreting and rationalizing results (i.e., statistics, DOE), promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.

Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build Quality into all aspects of your work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements, ensuring a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • AA Degree or equivalent work experience in a related discipline and 6 years related experience.
  • Experience working with and evaluating/characterizing/testing/verifying hardware & electronic systems.
  • Experience using a variety of electronic measurement tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, etc.).
  • Experience with coding and scripting in PHP and/or Python.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging test stations (manual and automated).
  • Experience setting up test stations as well as maintaining & tracking test station equipment.
  • Experience with data & statistical analysis (e.g., T-Test, ANOVA, standard deviation, etc.).
  • Experience with Excel, MATLAB, Minitab/JMP.

Additional Job Specific Desired Experience:

  • Experience documenting Verification and Qualification results in a medical device quality system.
