About the Role

At Advanced Technology Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Service Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing expert-level break-fix and preventative maintenance on our industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform expert-level maintenance on industrial equipment, including observing devices in operation, identifying root causes of problems, and performing repairs and replacements.
  • Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair items as necessary, and evaluate alternatives to improve cost and reliability of equipment.
  • Independently perform maintenance according to industry standards and work with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance procedures.
  • Setup and operate machining operations, including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools, and perform welding tasks as needed.
  • Conform to customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes, and document work performed in service reports and management systems.
  • Provide assistance to lower-level technicians and leadership, and perform expert functions as part of training and development.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze complex control systems to resolve software/hardware and configuration problems, and utilize advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data.
  • Complete on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development, and follow all safety-related policies and guidelines.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Associates degree with a Technical focus and 10 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 12 years of experience in specific industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems, and ability to analyze problems and synthesize alternative solutions
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate, and extensive travel required (local, national, international)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in condition-based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment
  • Experience in programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
