Key Responsibilities

The Patient Services Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining efficient clinic operations, ensuring seamless patient interactions and billing processes. This position involves welcoming patients, guiding them to their appointments, organizing the daily clinic agenda, and updating physician schedules. Additionally, the associate manages patient records, collaborates with various corporate departments, and addresses patient inquiries effectively.

  • Manage a high volume of incoming calls with professionalism.
  • Maintain and document patient schedules accurately.
  • Coordinate new and follow-up appointments, including necessary patient testing.
  • Review and verify insurance referrals and authorizations.
  • Ensure the accuracy of patient demographic and insurance details.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other payments as required.
  • Utilize proper telephone etiquette while answering calls, recording messages, and addressing inquiries.
  • Facilitate communication flow within the office.
  • Welcome and assist numerous visitors, directing them as needed.
  • Direct billing questions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support physicians and administrators with various business and patient care tasks.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills and a compassionate demeanor towards patients and their families.
  • Respect individual beliefs and opinions in a non-judgmental manner.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred: Three years of recent experience in a medical office setting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong computer proficiency is preferred.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices is advantageous.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with composure.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
