In this role, you will significantly impact the lives of individuals and families within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality care both in clinical settings and in patients' residences.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments to evaluate patient needs.
- Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for patients dealing with mental health issues.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders and effective coping mechanisms.
- Advocate for patients, ensuring they have access to essential resources and services.
- Exhibit compassion and respect in all patient interactions.
- Collaborate with a dedicated psychiatric team to enhance patient care.
- Implement evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions to foster mental health and recovery.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited nursing program.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
- Preferred experience of at least one year in psychiatric nursing.
- Current CPR Certification is required.
- Experience in chronic disease management is an advantage.
