Position Overview:

A Laboratory Research Coordinator role is open at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute, part of Princeton University. The Falkner lab specializes in the dynamics of neural circuits in subcortical areas during social interactions. The ideal candidate will oversee daily laboratory functions, including routine animal care, such as assisting team members with mouse breeding, and collaborating with researchers to design and execute experiments. We seek a dedicated, enthusiastic, and diligent individual.

Position Duration:
This is a one-year appointment with the potential for renewal based on funding and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct general laboratory maintenance tasks
  • Oversee mouse colony management
  • Support researchers in experimental procedures and data analysis
  • Perform additional tasks as required

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) in Neuroscience or a related discipline
  • A minimum of one year of laboratory experience, either pre- or post-baccalaureate
  • Exceptional organizational abilities
  • Strong references
  • Experience with mice and conducting rodent behavior studies
  • Proficiency in programming with Python and/or Matlab

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with computational neuroscience methodologies
  • Experience in animal husbandry, specifically with rodents
