Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mass Finishing Technician to join our team in Austin, Texas. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our production processes. Your primary duties will include:
- Visual inspection of components using a microscope to detect cosmetic and functional discrepancies;
- Operating mass finishing equipment according to procedures, measuring material removal, and documenting results;
- Conducting in-process measurements using micrometers, drop gauges, scales, pH gauge, proof tester, optical comparators, or similar equipment;
- Troubleshooting and monitoring vibratory equipment to ensure desired polish results, including media and slurry management;
- Utilizing strong mechanical abilities to perform machine repairs such as replacing belts, bearings, and pulleys;
- Maintaining adherence to safety practices and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE);
- Ensuring traceability of components and completing necessary documentation as per regulatory requirements;
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
- A high school diploma or equivalent required;
- Experience in inspection, assembly, or intricate hand work preferred;
- Familiarity with FDA and ISO manufacturing practices preferred;
- Ability to perform visual inspections using a microscope for extended periods;
- Strong attention to detail and quality orientation;
- Good manual dexterity for handling small parts;
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions;
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in MS Office applications, internet usage, and email;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to problem-solve and make valid conclusions based on data;
- Proficiency in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
