Position Overview
Under the general oversight of the Nursing Director and direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the surgical team, ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are available for both minor and major surgical procedures. Qualifications Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an operating room setting preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Conduct sponge, instrument, and needle counts as per policy
  • Handle specimens according to established procedures
  • Transport instruments to decontamination areas safely
  • Restock operating rooms to established levels
  • Adhere to attendance and punctuality policies
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and independently

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this role include frequent sitting, conversing, and listening, as well as the ability to handle and manipulate objects. Candidates must be able to lift and carry over 20 pounds regularly and push or pull over 25 pounds. The position requires standing or walking for at least five hours each day.
