Job Title: Staff Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our team at Upbound Console. As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for building the user experiences that customers directly interact with.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build end-user facing experiences of Upbound Console
  • Develop declarative, RESTful, and GraphQL APIs to retrieve application data and build dynamic visualizations and experiences
  • Optimize and troubleshoot Single Page Applications (SPA) across diverse environments
  • Report and fix bugs in private and public projects
  • Design and author test plans, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure high-quality code
  • Mentor junior team members and provide constructive feedback on pull requests and design documents
  • Partner with other disciplines and roles on a shared mission, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Support the full project lifecycle - discovery, analysis, architecture, design, documentation, building, migration, automation, and production-readiness

Requirements:

  • Experience in writing responsive and performant User Interfaces (UIs) with TypeScript
  • Development of interfaces solving cloud computing infrastructure management or Kubernetes management concerns
  • Design and development of reliable, beautiful, and delightful to use Single Page Applications (SPA) with React
  • Design and development of APIs and services tuned for performance, observability, security, scalability, and high reliability
  • Test planning and implementation using Jest, react-testing-library, and end-to-end testing frameworks like Cypress
  • Followed CSS best practices for designing responsive user interfaces
  • Managed application state with libraries like Redux
  • Optimized packaging and deployment with bundling tools like Webpack
  • Architected and deployed highly scaled and reliable applications in multiple environments
  • Incorporated modern operational and application delivery tools and methodologies into production deployment workflows

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a startup and distributed/remote team environment
  • Development of backend services written in Go
  • Responsible for deploying/managing workloads running on Kubernetes in production
  • History of speaking at technology conferences, blogging/writing technical articles, and/or contributing to a popular open source project
