We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and take ownership of architecting and executing large-scale projects that drive technical excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and Execute Large Projects: Lead the technical design and execution of key initiatives such as SOC2 compliance, GDPR readiness, IoT device integration, and internationalization.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and coach other engineers, helping them grow technically and professionally.
  • Culture of Excellence: Contribute to fostering an engineering culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high standards.
  • System Architecture: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design scalable, secure, and efficient systems.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with leadership, product management, and other departments to ensure alignment on technical solutions and priorities.
  • Best Practices: Promote and enforce engineering best practices for coding, testing, and deployment across the team.
  • Hands-On Contribution: Contribute hands-on when necessary, especially for complex problems.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years at a staff or principal level, leading the architecture and execution of large-scale technical projects.
  • Strong Knowledge of Compliance & Security: Experience with SOC2, GDPR, or other security frameworks, and the ability to implement and scale solutions that meet these requirements.
  • IoT Expertise: Familiarity with IoT integrations, protocols, and security concerns.
  • Internationalization (i18n): Proven experience with internationalizing software systems and handling localization challenges.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead by example, promoting a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in backend technologies (e.g., Python, Java, or similar), cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), and modern frontend frameworks.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ruby on Rails, Postgres, React, GCP: 5+ years with technologies in our stack.
  • Compliance Certifications: Experience with achieving and maintaining SOC2 compliance or related certifications.
  • Open Source Contributions: Active involvement in the open-source community or a strong personal project portfolio.
  • Start-Up Experience: Previous experience working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.
