Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned ground systems engineer to support the Space Development Agency (SDA) in their mission to deliver space-based capabilities for joint military operations. The SDA is recognized for its innovative approach to space acquisition, focusing on speed and cost-effectiveness through commercial partnerships. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise to government program managers, ensuring that satellite designs align with SDA's architectural requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer strategic technical insights that underpin national capabilities and future initiatives for the Proliferated Space Warfighter Architecture.
  • Coordinate the formulation of satellite system requirements, encompassing enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface specifications, while assessing their implications for ground systems.
  • Deliver systems engineering guidance for the development of test and evaluation plans, system verification strategies, and related documentation.
  • Oversee the integration and testing of satellites within the SDA's ground system network, collaborating with various satellite vendors to establish a cohesive mesh network.
  • Evaluate the technical maturity and risks associated with modifications to ground systems to enhance overall architectural capabilities.
  • Develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS) for new functionalities and facilitate coordination across relevant organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in satellite and ground systems.
  • Strong technical and analytical understanding of satellite-ground system interactions.
  • Proven experience in systems engineering.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.
  • Possession of a TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline or a related field.
  • Experience working with Department of Defense or Intelligence Community clients.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
