Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Best Western Plus Grant Creek Inn. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical and cleanliness conditions of our hotel's public areas, guest rooms, and back of the house.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement preventative maintenance procedures to maximize equipment operations and minimize safety risks.
  • Manage maintenance requests and make records of when equipment was serviced and repairs were made.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and systems, including plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, and electrical wiring.
  • Examine building windows, walls, and doors for damage and perform repairs as needed.
  • May perform general carpentry, tiling, painting, and wall surface repairs.
  • Clean and maintain the lobby and other public areas to ensure a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Vacuum and/or sweep all floor surfaces.
  • Complete and document pool readings.
  • Transport guests to and from airport and other locations as requested.
  • Respond to guests' questions, complaints, or requests in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Maintain guests' privacy and properly maintain tools, workspaces, and equipment.
  • Maintain a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent work ethic, communication skills, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced understanding of maintenance equipment, procedures, and techniques.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Flexible availability for on-call maintenance requests.
  • Problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, technical and computer skills, and knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Caring and compassionate attitude and knowledge of surrounding area and events.
