Job Overview

Senior Financial Accountant

GHJ Search and Staffing is collaborating with a nonprofit organization committed to transforming lives. We are in search of a meticulous Senior Financial Accountant who will work closely with the Accounting & Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger framework.
  • Support the daily, monthly, and annual functions of the Finance & Accounting Department.
  • Formulate and execute accounting protocols by evaluating existing practices and suggesting improvements.
  • Address accounting and financial inquiries through thorough research and data interpretation.
  • Review expense classifications to ensure proper allocation and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct general account assessments and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
  • Manage monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, depreciation of fixed assets, and the recording of adjusting, reclassification, and investment journal entries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or BBA with a focus on Accounting is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
