Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to support both the Covington and Diamondhead locations. As a Medical Assistant at Lcmc health you will be responsible for providing clinical support to our patients and teams. This includes measuring and recording vital signs, identifying abnormal values and reporting findings to nursing staff or medical providers.

Your Role

  • You will assist with patient arrival, scheduling new and follow-up appointments and facilitating a smooth exit from clinic.
  • You will recognize emergencies and respond appropriately according to organizational policy and procedure.
  • You will provide comfort needs of patients considering age and special needs.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • You will work with clinic equipment including preparation, testing, cleaning and disinfecting according to hospital policy.
  • You will maintain linens, supplies and equipment for clinic use.
  • You will properly collect, prepare and secure laboratory specimens for testing.

Requirements

  • You must have a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience.
  • You must obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
