The Patient Care Coordinator II role serves as the primary contact for phone-based customer service, assisting patients, healthcare providers, and various stakeholders including family members and vendors. This position is essential in ensuring effective communication and the proper routing of calls and messages.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and update patient demographics and insurance details.
- Verify health plan eligibility and manage appointment scheduling through an electronic practice management system.
- Take accurate messages and ensure timely follow-up.
- Perform clerical tasks as needed to support the daily operations of the clinic.
- Handle referrals and authorizations, as well as pre-registration and patient preparation.
This role may involve access to sensitive payment information and requires adherence to privacy protocols. The Patient Care Coordinator II is also expected to collaborate with team members to achieve clinic goals and enhance patient care quality.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in electronic practice management systems is mandatory.
