Job Summary

Phoenix International Holdings, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Offshore Diver 1 to join our team. As a diving specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining proficiency in underwater tasks and skills required by all divers. This is a full-time or rotational position, working pier-side, inland, or offshore, with the possibility of worldwide travel on an emergency call-out basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accomplish all tasks assigned by the Diving Supervisor, ensuring compliance with Phoenix policies and government regulations.
  • Read, understand, and comply with all applicable regulations and instructions concerning the use, maintenance, repair, and testing of diving equipment.
  • Report any recent medical treatment or illness to the Diving Supervisor to determine fitness to dive.
  • Immediately report any symptoms or suspected symptoms as early and accurately as possible.
  • Assist in the training of new personnel or tenders and maintain a diver's logbook, detailing all dives, medical examinations, courses taken, and personal equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure medical certificates are up-to-date and recorded in the logbook.
  • Present the logbook to the Diving Supervisor on every job and maintain current certification in first aid and CPR.
  • Comply with established Phoenix quality management system (QMS) processes and procedures.
  • Complete administrative office duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a professional diving school.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan dive operations requiring decompression and repetitive dives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of normal decompression and treatment tables.
  • Ability to pass annual diving physical and willingness to accept significant exposure to physical risk.
  • Possession of a current Passport, ADCI Card, and TWIC Card.
  • U.S. Government security clearance desired.
  • Ability and willingness to travel worldwide, on short notice, for indefinite periods of time.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Offshore Diver 2 with Phoenix or another diving company.
  • At least 1 year of experience with the Company and documented 250 days minimum field experience on diving jobs.
  • Completed Offshore Diver 1 Proficiency Checklist, initialed by the appropriate personnel, and presented it to the Operations Manager.
  • Applicant must pass written Offshore Diver 1 Test with a score of at least 80%.
  • Demonstrated diving ability (150 or more working dives as a Diver 2).
  • At least 30 dives in excess of 150 feet, and at least 10 mixed gas dives.
  • Written recommendations for promotion from two Diving Supervisors, the Operations Manager, or the Company Vice President.
  • Demonstrated ability to competently set up a mixed gas dive station.
  • Familiarity with air, surface, mixed gas, and bell diving procedures.
  • Experience as Lead Diver on a minimum of 10 projects with a crew of 3 or more personnel after reaching level of Offshore Diver 2.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug/alcohol testing.
  • Completion of requirements listed for Offshore Tender 1 through Offshore Diver 2.
