Job Title: Controls Engineer

Laitram Machinery, Inc. is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing control systems for seafood processing equipment that meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop control systems for seafood processing equipment
  • Create Solidworks drawings, solid models, schematics, and PLC program changes for customer orders and development
  • Incorporate drawing changes for product improvement and maintain BOM's for new designs and design changes
  • Report generation and system testing assistance as project scope requires

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Programming, Engineering, or related field
  • Extensive programming experience (4-8 years related experience preferred)
  • Proficient in configuring PLC's, HMI's, computers, networks, and variable frequency drives
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturer's drawings and manuals
  • Ability to understand Electrical Engineering concepts
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Schneider PLC's, HMI's, VFDs, and Schneider programming software
  • Experience with UL requirements/compliance
  • Experience with NEC
  • Experience in SolidWorks or ProEngineer (or equivalent) 3D software
