About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Statistician Software Development intern to join our team at JMP Statistical Discovery, LLC. As a member of our development team, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, design, develop, and debug software, and collaborate with other research statisticians to develop innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and debug software as part of the JMP development team.
- Collaborate with other research statisticians to develop innovative solutions.
- Leverage your research interests to conduct independent research to support development efforts.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a MS/PhD degree in Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field.
- Knowledge of experimental design or reliability analysis.
- Familiarity with topics in optimal design of experiments, Bayesian optimization, combinatorial design, graph theory, or reliability.
- Ability to think analytically and to effectively communicate problems and suggest solutions.
- Ability to conduct independent research, gathering information from multiple sources and communicate recommendations to the development team.
- Ability to give specific, constructive feedback and exert positive influence.
- Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with other testers, developers, documentation staff members as well as technical support.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using R, Python, Julia, Matlab, or C++.
- Basic to advanced programming skills.
