Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure a Safe and Healthy Work Environment: Implement and enforce company safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees.
  2. Leadership and Guidance: Provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance and tool and die department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  3. Facilities and Equipment Maintenance: Inspect facilities and production machines regularly to identify problems and determine necessary maintenance requirements.
  4. Work Scheduling and Allocation: Prepare weekly machine maintenance schedules and allocate work to maintenance team members.
  5. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of parts, materials, and tools needed and report to management.
  6. Leadership of Outside Tradesmen: Lead outside tradesmen as needed to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  7. Task Delegation and Verification: Ensure that tasks delegated by management are carried out and verify that processes are being done correctly.
  8. Assistance to Production Operators: Assist production operators with machines and processes when necessary.
  9. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Standards: Ensure that PPE standards are being adhered to and perform daily checklist duties.
  10. Additional Projects and Tasks: Handle assorted projects and tasks as assigned by management.
  11. Issue Communication: Communicate any issues that arise effectively to management.
  12. Machine Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure safe operation of machines by all employees and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  13. Backup to Maintenance Manager: Provide backup support to the maintenance manager as needed.
Requirements
  • Math Skills: Possess strong math skills to perform calculations and make decisions.
  • Operational Skills: Ability to operate material handling equipment and tools required to perform tasks.
  • Flexibility: Must be flexible and willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and management.
Education and Experience
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent trade school.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 2-3 years of experience operating a forklift and/or material handling equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Condition: Must be in good physical condition to perform tasks.
  • Standing and Bending: Must be able to stand and/or bend for long periods of time.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
