Medical Laboratory Assistant III

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant III to join our team at the Craven County Community Health Center in Havelock. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures, processing specimens, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform blood draws on adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients using standard phlebotomy techniques and equipment.
- Process specimens in a timely manner and in the appropriate way for testing in house or for sending out to a reference lab.
- Use independent judgment to recognize abnormal and/or critical test values and make decisions regarding the need for retesting and/or confirmatory testing.
- Record and report test results based on policy and procedures.
- Perform general lab duties, including quality control, inventory management, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- High school or General Education Development diploma and one year of laboratory experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The successful candidate will be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
