Fitness Instructor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fitness Instructor to join our team at the Hardin-Simmons University Fitness Center. As a Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for leading group exercise classes, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our members.

• Lead group exercise classes, including cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises
• Provide excellent customer service to members, responding to their needs and concerns
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and that members are aware of facility rules and regulations
• Stay current on class format and instructing techniques, attending training sessions and workshops as needed
• Modify class formats to meet the needs and abilities of participants
• Inspect and maintain all group exercise equipment and stereo equipment
• Handle injuries, accidents, and emergency situations, reporting to the Director as needed

• Current group fitness training certification through ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, CSCS, or NCAA
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to maintain a safe and welcoming environment

This is a part-time position, with a variable schedule that may include evenings and weekends. The Fitness Center is a fast-paced environment, and the successful candidate must be able to work well under pressure.
