Job Summary

The Medical Assistant II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Medical Assistant II performs all aspects of the Medical Assistant I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An Medical Assistant II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing patient care to assigned patients, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with medical procedures.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and maintaining patient records.
  • Assist with medical billing and coding, including preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or equivalent combination of coursework and experience.
  • Washington State Medical Assistant Certification (Vendor Managed) upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (Vendor Managed) within 30 days of hire.
  • 6 months of healthcare experience and 6 months of medical assisting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or equivalent combination of coursework and experience.
  • National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
