Role Summary: Apex Informatics is looking for a proficient Systems Administrator to enhance our Information Technology department. The successful candidate will possess 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support, particularly within an Amazon Web Services (AWS) framework. This position focuses on delivering technical assistance to users regarding end-user computing, hardware, and software, while also overseeing AWS server maintenance and IT helpdesk operations.

Note: This role requires local candidates who can work full-time in the office during the initial training period.

Key Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive technical support for hardware, software, and application-related inquiries.
  • Administer and sustain AWS servers, ensuring peak performance and security measures are in place.
  • Oversee IT helpdesk operations, addressing user requests and resolving IT-related challenges.
  • Monitor and diagnose server issues within the AWS infrastructure.
  • Assist in the deployment and management of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, KMS, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
  • Create and maintain scripts and applications for AWS management utilizing languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to integrate new technologies and enhance existing systems.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures concerning IT and data security.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support, addressing technical issues related to hardware, software, and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in an AWS environment.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with AWS services, including:
    • EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud)
    • S3 (Simple Storage Service)
    • RDS (Relational Database Service)
    • KMS (Key Management Service)
    • CloudFormation
    • CloudWatch
    • Proficiency in scripting and programming for AWS (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
    • AWS Support services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in IT helpdesk functions and user support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator).
  • Experience with network configuration and security protocols.
  • Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) methodologies.
