Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at Education & Training Resources LLC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care and support to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Health and Wellness Services program in accordance with DOL guidelines, federal, state and city laws and regulations.
  • Oversee scheduling of sick call, infirmary coverage, and environmental health, physical and dental exams in accordance with DOL guidelines.
  • Inspect the food service facility and dormitories regularly to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Assist with the management of medical records and the Health Management Information System.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory control system for medication, equipment and medical supplies.
  • Conduct regular inventories of supplies and medications to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, legal guardians and other personnel regarding students' health and well-being.
  • Purchase medication and medical supplies as needed.
  • Participate in nurses' on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Function as a staff nurse as needed to support the healthcare team.
  • Collect and maintain wellness data and reports.
  • Plan, organize and control the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Model appropriate behaviors, mentor students and monitor both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
  • Ensure the proper storage, handling and disposal of hazardous wastes generated by the health and wellness center.
Requirements
  • State Licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Three years' experience as a practicing nurse.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of nursing techniques and practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and support a team.
  • Knowledge of current state and federal laws regulating health care and patient privacy (HIPPA).
  • Strong organization skills and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Familiarity with medical needs of young adults.
  • Meticulous documentation/recording skills and attention to detail; excellent time management.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-changing environment.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and computer software including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
