We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist to join our Excess Liability Division in Chicago. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing financial and risk data of proposed insureds to identify hazards and exposures.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze financial and risk data to identify growth opportunities with key distribution partners.
- Determine appropriate recommendations subject to our management and underwriting guidelines.
- Develop effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers to attract and retain profitable business.
- Develop working relationships with assigned agencies within the assigned territory.
- Ensure the delivery, follow-up, and servicing requirements of all quotes on new and renewal accounts.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Generally, 5+ years of casualty underwriting experience is required.
- Excess casualty underwriting experience is required, and umbrella experience is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Position requires regular travel in territory including overnight travel.
