General Dynamics NASSCO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Foreman to join our team in Bremerton, WA.
Job Summary:The Welding Foreman will be responsible for managing and controlling trade processes and procedures in support of NASSCO's safety, quality, schedule, cost, and continuous improvement goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and supervise a team of skilled and semi-skilled mechanics and trade subcontractors in their trade on a project.
- Plan and project manpower requirements to support Production/Program Management activities.
- Ensure all employees are properly supervised and have all the necessary tooling, equipment, specifications, drawings, and procedures to properly accomplish their jobs.
- Deconflict work and inform the Production Manager and Project Managers of any potential problem that jeopardizes completion of quality work within budget and schedule.
- Attend daily production meetings and coordinate their assignments with other shops and ensure projected goals are met and all issues are being addressed.
- Define, measure, and control production quality and safety within trade(s).
- Monitor processes for continuous improvement and ensure the fullest support by all supervision.
- Monitor trade/shop rework trends and implement corrective actions.
- Work with trades/shops to develop training plans and ensure all personnel, including temporary labor, have been properly trained.
- Control, coordinate, and manage trades via General Foreman and Project Manager(s).
- Bachelor's degree plus 4 years in a related field or Associate's degree plus 8 years directly related experience or 10 years directly related shipbuilding/ship repair experience in supervisory roles.
- In-depth knowledge in all facets of their trade relating to ship repair.
- Working knowledge of contracting and estimating procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of production processes, methods, quality, and technology.
- Effective leadership, communication, multi-tasking, and team-building skills.
- Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others as a team.
- Proficient in computer-based software applications and databases.
The Welding Foreman will work in a fast-paced shipyard environment with moderate to loud noise levels. The position requires the ability to spend up to 70% of time in an outdoor shipyard environment in all climates.
What We Offer:General Dynamics NASSCO offers a competitive salary range of $78,000 - $102,375 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
