Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Foreman to join our team at General Dynamics NASSCO. As a key member of our shipbuilding and repair operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the welding process, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and leading a team of skilled tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate welding activities to meet project schedules and quality requirements
  • Supervise and train welding personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Collaborate with production managers and project managers to ensure seamless integration of welding activities with other shipbuilding and repair operations
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in welding and shipbuilding or repair operations
  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams to achieve high-quality results
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a shipyard environment, which can be physically demanding and requires adherence to strict safety protocols. The successful candidate must be willing to work in a team environment, follow instructions, and take direction from supervisors.
