Position: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Overview:

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for driving trucks to transport materials to designated locations. Candidates must possess a valid CDL and have a solid understanding of the daily operations and maintenance of heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of assigned vehicles and complete necessary log/check sheets.
  • Ensure proper fluid levels (fuel, lubricants, grease, oil, coolant) are maintained for optimal equipment operation.
  • Operate trucks safely in accordance with legal regulations and company safety protocols.
  • Transport materials (such as ash and metals) to designated disposal areas.
  • Ensure trucks are loaded securely to prevent spillage, and are cleaned and tarped before leaving the facility.
  • Complete all required trip tickets, log sheets, and daily reports accurately.
Required Qualifications:

Must hold a valid CDL.

Minimum of three years of experience operating heavy machinery for material transport.

Physical and Job Site Requirements:
  • Ability to complete hiring paperwork electronically.
  • May need to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Capability to navigate confined spaces and uneven terrain.
  • Full range of motion appropriate for the job requirements.
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
  • Must be able to hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from colleagues and equipment.
  • Visual acuity, depth perception, and color discrimination necessary for working at heights and on uneven surfaces.
  • Safety footwear is mandatory.
