Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EMT Event Specialist I to join our team. As a key member of our event medical team, you will provide on-site medical care during mass gathering events, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to coordinate the response to illness and injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care at the BLS level in accordance with Medical Transport Network guidelines and regional EMS Council protocols.
  • Document patient condition and all treatment provided while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Interface effectively with peers and customers, assuming responsibility for professional development of self and others per department policy.
  • Maintain safety as a primary responsibility throughout all aspects of care and transportation.
  • Report any safety hazards to the Event Supervisor or EMS Field Ops Supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Maintain necessary certifications, skills, required continuing education, and mandatory in-services.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • One year of BLS-level experience as a released attendant-in-charge.
  • Virginia Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Advanced EMT (AEMT) certification.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Unrestricted Valid Driver's License.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) Class II or higher.
Physical Demands

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling, climbing (ladder, steps), and driving. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, noise, outdoor climate, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
