Position Overview

The Event Health Services Technician is responsible for delivering immediate medical assistance during large-scale events such as sports competitions, concerts, and other community gatherings. This role involves collaboration with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to ensure effective management of health-related incidents affecting attendees and participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct patient care at the Basic Life Support (BLS) level, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient conditions and treatments while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Engage effectively with colleagues and event attendees, taking ownership of personal and team professional development.
  • Ensure that medical vehicles are properly cleaned and stocked after each event or patient transfer.
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of patient care and transportation.
  • Report any safety concerns to the Event Supervisor or EMS Field Operations Supervisor promptly.
  • Keep up-to-date with necessary certifications, skills, and continuing education requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the team.
Compensation

Position Compensation Range: $25.00 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of BLS-level experience as a certified attendant-in-charge.
  • Licensure: Valid certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Advanced EMT (AEMT) from the Virginia Department of Health. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Valid driver's license and completion of Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) Class II or higher.
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, frequent bending, climbing, and driving. Strong communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential. Attention to detail and legible writing are necessary. The role involves lifting, pushing, or pulling weights exceeding 100 lbs. Exposure to various environmental conditions and potential health hazards may occur.
