Job Summary

The per diem MRI Technologist is a key member of our diagnostic imaging team at Boston Children's Hospital. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRI Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine MRI procedures on a scheduled and emergency basis, ensuring high-quality images and excellent patient care.
  • Review and evaluate requisitions for MRI procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining the appropriateness of the procedure prescribed.
  • Identify patients according to hospital policy using two identifiers.
  • Select the appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status, developing a care plan to meet their specific needs.
  • Explain the examination and answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and magnetic field environment.
  • Follow MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations and practice High Reliability Training.
  • Provide exceptional care and service, responding to the uniqueness of each patient and creating a supportive environment.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital meetings.
  • Comply with ETU and HIPAA regulations.
  • Practice the BCH 6 Core Values: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Complete all required competencies and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in the departmental file.
  • Further professional education and maintain knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Associates Degree: Allied Health
  • MRI Certification
