Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for operating sonographic equipment, performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic ultrasound examinations
  • Exams include, but may not be limited to, abdominal, vascular, small parts, ob-gyn, vascular, infant head/hip/spine, and interventional procedures
  • Follow established departmental policy
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the Radiologist
  • Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer's care
  • Communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient's needs
  • Assist with the daily operations of the ultrasound department
  • Complete exam tracking/billing accurately on a daily basis
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintain adequate supplies
  • Establish and maintain productive ethical working relationships with coworkers, referring providers and commercial agencies
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification
  • ARDMS certification within 18 months of hire
  • BLS certification
