Job SummaryThe Director of Immigration Programs will lead the Boston field office, overseeing program delivery, staff performance, and compliance with funding requirements. This role requires building relationships with community stakeholders, supervising Senior Attorneys and Managing Attorneys, and ensuring the office meets its program deliverables.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor pro bono attorneys and provide limited direct legal representation to KIND clients, including legal research, client interviews, court appearances, and drafting filings.
- Lead the office in delivering high-quality legal services, ensuring staff performance, meeting program deliverables, and fostering team cohesion.
- Serve as KIND's primary representative locally, maintaining strong relationships with government agencies, law firms, corporate partners, and community coalitions.
- Monitor changes in immigration law and provide thought leadership to KIND's teams and external stakeholders.
- Strengthen relationships with law firms and corporate counsel to promote volunteer engagement.
- Ensure the office complies with funding requirements, managing budgets and prioritizing expenditures.
- J.D. with admission to a state bar.
- 7+ years in immigration law, particularly humanitarian claims (e.g., asylum, SIJS, U visas, T visas).
- 5+ years working with children, particularly immigrant or trauma survivors.
- 4+ years supervising attorneys and non-attorney staff.
- 3+ years in program management, including hiring, planning, and tracking deliverables.
- 2+ years collaborating with law firm attorneys and legal volunteers.
The salary range for this position is $102,367-$127,959 per year. Additionally, benefits include:
