Nursing Leadership Role

IAHD is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and ensure the highest quality of care for the individuals we support.
In this vital role, you will oversee all aspects of medical and nursing services provided across our residences and day programs. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in maintaining a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for everyone in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to the Nursing Department, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Collaborate closely with Managers, Care Coordinators, and Residence Nurses to address complex healthcare needs and ensure comprehensive individual support plans.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of nursing protocols and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular reviews of medical records and care documentation, identifying areas for improvement and promoting best practices.
- Lead and participate in training initiatives for nurses, keeping them up-to-date on current guidelines and best practices within the OPWDD system.
- Serve as a liaison between the nursing team and other clinical disciplines, such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
Qualifications:
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; extensive experience in nursing and developmental disabilities will be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations governing healthcare delivery within the OPWDD system.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
