The City of Springfield, Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Zoning Code Inspector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and local zoning laws, as well as building code requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of properties to ensure compliance with zoning regulations and building codes.
- Review and analyze plans and documents to ensure compliance with zoning laws and building codes.
- Enforce zoning regulations and building codes through education and enforcement activities.
- Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to ensure consistency and compliance with city policies and regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and concerns related to zoning and building codes.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in zoning enforcement, building inspection, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of zoning laws and building codes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
