Job Summary:

Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in the Rosewood school-age special education program in Cheektowaga. This is a year-round position that includes working our 6-week program in future summers. We offer a free continuing education program and yearly ASHA dues reimbursement for eligible full-time employees.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate, diagnose, and recommend therapeutic intervention for students with communication disorders in an educational setting.

Implement appropriate Speech-Language Pathology instruction to teach, habilitate, or rehabilitate communicatively impaired students.

Work collaboratively with other professionals, including classroom teachers, other SLPs, OTs, PTs, Audiologists, and supervisors as needed.

Submit written reports of evaluations, treatment, and educational plans, progress reports, and discharge reports as appropriate.

Maintain paperwork within legal and agency guidelines and ensure timely completion.

Make referrals as needed to affect positive therapeutic results.

Communicate regularly with family/student and exhibit professional judgment, maturity, and upgrade professional knowledge through continuing education programs.

Requirements:

Master's degree from an accredited speech language pathology program.

New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (or CFY eligible).

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) (or CFY eligible).

Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) Initial or Professional certificate or TSHH Permanent certificate.

Physical Requirements:

Physical actions may include, but are not limited to, bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, printing, crawling, and running.

Vision, speech, tactile, and hearing senses adequate to perform job requirements.

Frequent sitting/standing and floor sitting with pediatric patients.
