Job Title: Science Laboratory Coordinator

Contra Costa Community College District is seeking a highly skilled Science Laboratory Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Physical Sciences department, you will be responsible for planning and organizing laboratory activities, coordinating with faculty and staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratories.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate laboratory operations for assigned science discipline
  • Maintain and store a sufficient inventory of scientific supplies and equipment
  • Provide technical lead support and serve as a resource to faculty, students, and staff
  • Develop and implement new or modified laboratory policies
  • Recommend environmental, health, and safety-related improvements and modifications in laboratory procedures and operations
Requirements:
  • Two years of responsible experience coordinating a laboratory in a college, public health, hospital, clinical, or research setting
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a discipline relevant to assigned area
  • Valid Red Cross First Aid and CPR certificate and Cal OSHA Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and supervising student workers
  • Ability to successfully manage inventories and budgets
