Job SummaryThe Cardiac Sonographer will perform advanced cardiac ultrasound services and procedures for adult patients, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms.
Key Responsibilities- Perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures using various equipment and techniques.
- Identify and define cardiac abnormalities, extending the scope of the examination as necessary.
- Assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms by performing echocardiograph studies to aid in complex procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures, obtaining clinical history and adjusting imaging techniques to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiograms.
- Record statistics and perform daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment.
- Graduate of an accredited program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
- Less than 1 year of experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.
