Job Title: High School English Language Arts Teacher

Uncommon Schools is seeking a highly qualified and passionate High School English Language Arts Teacher to join our team. As a member of our community, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students and helping them achieve academic success.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and research-based methods.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in New York State.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and developing culturally responsive instruction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
