About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for patients across the continuum of age and acuity. Our department is a Level 1 trauma center for adults and children, providing approximately 105,000 visits per year.
Responsibilities
- Providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for patients
- Coordinating emergent and urgent care with consultant services
- Recommending follow-up care and facilitating referrals to various internal and external facilities
Benefits and Compensation
The estimated salary for this position is $160,000 - $220,000 per year, including a comprehensive benefits package. The University of Michigan offers a competitive salary, flexible health, dental, and vision plans, retirement savings plans with 2:1 matching, group term life insurance, long-term disability plan, and generous time off allowances.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of one year of PA experience in a tertiary, high-volume emergency department
- Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by ARC-PA or its predecessor agencies
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan
