About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team at UNC Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Identification and Preparation: Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and ensure patient safety and understanding.
  • MRI Technology and Operations: Demonstrate knowledge of MRI and cross-sectional human anatomy, operate MRI scanners, and maintain active status with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences (ARRT).
  • Contrast Administration: Administer oral and IV contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols, and follow safe and proper injection procedures.
  • Image Transfer and Management: Maintain thorough understanding of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), transmit images to relevant systems, and verify patient identification and demographic information.
  • Other Duties: Perform tasks in a timely manner, run schedules, volunteer for challenging tasks, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
  • Licensure/Certification: Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences (ARRT) or registry eligible, with advanced certification in MR within one year of employment.
  • Professional Experience: Prior education, training, and experience that provides the ability to perform the assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of MRI and cross-sectional human anatomy, proficiency in operating MRI scanners, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
