About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst/Developer to join our team at MSTS. As a key member of our GIS Department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Enterprise GIS capability and supporting various programs/projects across the Nuclear Security Enterprise.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop GIS products and systems, including data, maps, scripts, and applications.
  • Coordinate execution of assigned projects and serve as lead on teams requiring coordination with other teams.
  • Assist in researching and developing integration and solution pathways for various enterprise systems, databases, users, and products.
  • Leverage built-in GIS development tools and open-source code to create original/custom database-driven solutions.
  • Participate in drills and exercises and respond to real-world events as an active member of the MSTS Emergency Response Organization GIS Duty Position.
  • Maintain a firm understanding of existing GIS databases, data models, and applications, and stay abreast of application and process changes.
  • Collect, document, input, verify, and track GIS data and products.
  • Prepare and perform QA reviews of GIS data reports, and develop system, application, and training documents.
  • Develop and maintain a firm understanding of existing enterprise database models/structures/processes and related applications.
  • Assist in collecting user requirements, researching workflows and data structures, exploring design options, and developing project estimates.
  • Assist in developing application upgrade strategies, evaluating and developing solutions to mitigate cyber security vulnerabilities, and designing and performing quality/anomaly checks on GIS products.
  • Develop and conduct user training on GIS applications and tools, and perform other duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a calculus-based technical field (STEM) plus at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining spatial software products, especially those based on the Esri platform.
  • Experience with C#, Python, HTML/CSS,.NET Framework/Core, and MS SQL Server highly desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and experience with Visio desired.
  • Able to utilize independent judgment, creativity, initiative, and ability to apply knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
  • Able to deal with high-pressure environments, handle multiple tasks with shifting priorities, schedules, and requirements.
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions and follow through on all assignments.
  • Able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities in the most efficient manner to meet required deadlines and management commitments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, self-motivated, and desire to learn and improve.
  • Able to work independently and effectively in a team environment, providing guidance to organizations and stakeholders.
  • Able to remember extensive policies, procedures, terminology, schedule, personnel, and other details.
What We Offer

MSTS offers a competitive salary range of $97,000 to $145,516.80, determined based on the position market value, individual candidate education and experience, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision, a pension and 401k, paid time off, and relocation assistance.
