**Job Description:** As a State and Local Tax Director, you will be responsible for leading a team of experienced tax professionals in providing state and local tax advisory services to clients.

You will guide clients through the complexities of state and local tax implications related to their business objectives, conducting nexus determinations, and performing technical reviews of partnership and corporate state and local tax returns.

Your expertise will be crucial in researching and analyzing various state and local tax issues, including nexus considerations and apportionment methodology. You will also be responsible for drafting memorandums, opinions, and documentation on tax matters, and assisting with state and local tax controversy, including managing audits and representing clients during hearings.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Lead a team of tax professionals in state and local tax advisory services.
  • Conduct nexus determinations and perform technical reviews of partnership and corporate state and local tax returns.
  • Research and analyze various state and local tax issues, including nexus considerations and apportionment methodology.
  • Draft memorandums, opinions, and documentation on tax matters.
  • Assist with state and local tax controversy, including managing audits and representing clients during hearings.

**Requirements:**

  • 6+ years of recent experience in state and local taxation, preferably with a large regional or Big 4 public accounting firm.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and tax software (CCH Axcess & Engagement preferred).
