Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Structural Steel Detailing Manager to join our team at MK Consulting Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel detailing, management, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detailing Manual Management: Oversee the development, maintenance, and updating of the company's detailing manual.
  • Third-Party Firm Oversight: Conduct regular audits and evaluations of third-party detailing firms to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Vendor Procurement: Research, vet, and procure new third-party detailing firms to meet the company's needs.
  • Team Leadership: Plan, assign, direct, and review the work of in-house detailers and Drafter/Detailers.
  • Project Management: Assist in assigning and monitoring work of outside detailing firms.
  • Travel: Travel to audit third-party detailing firms and ensure compliance with company standards.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10 years of drafting and detailing experience, with a strong focus on structural steel, stairs, handrails, and miscellaneous metals.
  • Management Experience: Minimum of 2 years of management experience, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
  • Software Skills: 5 years of experience using Advance Steel, Tekla, SDS/2, or equivalent 3D steel modeling software.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, fabrication, and manufacturing personnel.
  • Education: Associate's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management preferred, but not required for candidates with 10 years of experience.
