Overview:

This role is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which provides a reimbursement program for student loan payments. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria in accordance with VHA policy.

Essential Qualifications:
  1. Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens; non-citizens may only be considered when qualified citizens are unavailable.
  2. Certification: All candidates must hold certification in general radiologic technology from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R). Advanced certification is necessary for roles involving computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or Mammography (M).
  3. Educational Background: Completion of a comprehensive training program in diagnostic radiologic technology, lasting at least 24 months, and accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  4. Physical Capabilities: Candidates must meet the physical requirements as outlined in the job specifications.
  5. Language Proficiency: Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory as per 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
Minimum Experience:

At least one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-8), demonstrating the necessary clinical competencies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of four years of experience as a general radiographer.
  2. At least two years of experience in the MRI advanced certification area.
  3. Familiarity with Siemens MRI systems is advantageous.
Work Schedule:

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
